You can now DJ with Apple Music using rekrodbox, Serato and more
Apple Music has been added as a streaming service to key DJ software like rekordbox DJ, Serato, and DENON’s Engine DJ platform. The service was already available through Algorridim’s djay app.
The new addition brings Apple Music’s 100-million-strong catalogue directly into your DJ performance software, meaning you can search for tracks, browse through Apple’s curated playlists, create and import your own playlists, and import tracks into your library to play later. Apple Music streaming is also available in compatible hardware, including AlphaTheta’s OMNIS-DUO
To celebrate the launch, Apple has teamed up with Serato for a dedicated curator page on Apple Music, featuring new mixes from ZEEMUFFIN, DJ Miss Milan, Nick Cheo, DJ Puffy, Jasmine Solano and Kizzi, as well as genre-focused playlists to use in your sets like Party Starters, Slow Jams and UK Classics.
Apple has also launched a new DJ with Apple Music landing page, spotlighting DJ-friendly editorial playlists as well as a dedicated page for partner software companies like AlphaTheta, Rane, djay and Serato, as mentioned.
“Apple Music is committed to supporting DJs,” said Stephen Campbell, Global Head of Dance, Electronic & DJ Mixes at Apple Music. “With this latest integration, we’re taking that commitment even further—seamlessly connecting Apple Music with the industry’s leading DJ software and hardware. This innovation brings the full power of Apple Music into the creative workflow, making it easier than ever for DJs to access, play, and discover music in real-time.”
“We are thrilled to bring this integration with Apple Music to DJs around the world and in their creative process,” Yoshinori Kataoka, president and CEO of AlphaTheta, added. “This marks a significant step forward in making DJing more accessible, and we couldn’t be more excited about the possibilities it opens up.”
