Tristan Arp announces new album, ‘a pool, a portal’, on Wisdom Teeth

Tristan Arp’s new album, ‘a pool, a portal’, is out next month on Wisdom Teeth. Listen to lead single ‘life after humans’ below.

The Human Pitch co-founder presents nine new tracks, out 25th October on Facta and K-LONE’s London label, first created while he was living in Mexico City and completed after his move to New York.

The LP features modular synths, cello and spoken word vocals, in collaboration with Guatemalan cellist and vocalist Mabe Fratti, who also worked with Tristan Arp to inspire his 2021 LP ‘Sculpturegardening‘. Most of ‘a pool, a portal”s tracks were recorded initially as single-live performances and then edited.

He’s shared the following text alongside the album:

“a pool,
an exploration of possible futures
from life after humans
to ecosystems in regrowth
reworlding and rewilding
androids with memories of being human
searching for meaning in new myths
accessing alternate timelines while de-centering humans from the narrative grappling with who we are as hybrid creatures
learning from other forms of intelligence in search of new ways of being
a portal”

In 2023, Tristan Arp released ‘The Self Elastic‘ and ‘End of a Line or Part of a Circle?‘ EPs.

Earlier this year, Wisdom Teeth released the ‘Club Moss’ compilation highlighting music sitting between 150 and 170 BPM.
