The Streets cancel 2022 tour due to COVID-19 concerns

News

Mike Skinner has revealed that all of The Streets’ gigs for 2022 have been cancelled.

Having returned to playing live over the summer, amid the release of the single ‘Who’s Got The Bag’, Skinner said that any plans to continue to perform live into the new year would no longer go ahead, following “the worst week of the worst year” of his life.

In a statement shared via Instagram, Skinner said: “It is with a very heavy heart that I have to say that we have decided to cancel all live performances for 2022. It is not fair to keep taking your money for tickets knowing that with one case of COVID, the whole thing has to stop.

“I’m really sorry to disappoint you. This has been the worst week of the worst year of my life.”

In June of this year, Mike Skinner released the album ‘The Streets’ via his side project The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light, while he also released a collaboration-heavy mixtape, ‘None Of Us Are Getting Out Of This Alive’, last year.
