Richie Hawtin announces Plastikman ‘Musik’ 30th anniversary vinyl edition

Richie Hawtin has shared details of a 30th anniversary reissue of his album ‘Musik’, originally released under his Plastikman alias.

The LP has been fully remastered for the updated release, with the vinyl edition set to be pressed on bio-vinyl and housed in environmentally conscious packaging. The reissue will be released via NovaMute on Friday, 6th December.

You can listen to a remastered excerpt of album track ‘Plastique’ below.

Originally released in November 1994, ‘Musik’ was Hawtin’s second studio album under his Plastikman moniker and his third full-length effort in all. It saw him build on the minimal techno-centred sounds of previous material and was launched with his first-ever live set as Plastikman.

Last year, Hawtin reissued his classic Plastikman record ‘Sheet One’ to mark its 30th anniversary. Read DJ Mag’s features about ‘Sheet One’ and another Plastikman record, ‘Consumed’, here.

Earlier this year, he debuted a new live show concept, DEX EFX XOX.
