Bugzy Malone has revealed that he is “lucky to be alive” after a serious motorbike accident landed him in hospital last week.

The rapper was riding a motorised trike around the streets of Bury, Greater Manchester when the bike ploughed into the side of an Audi. Videos shared on social media from the incident showed him bloodied and surrounded by debris in the immediate aftermath of the collision.

“They tell me I’m lucky to be alive,” the rapper has said, breaking his silence on the accident for the first time via Twitter. “I sustained serious injuries and at the time I lost consciousness but what I do remember is the non-stop love, and just want to say thanks for all the well wishes and prayers you lot caught me off guard with all the support!”

He continued: “Lockdown ain’t easy because boredom causes the craziest problems, but be safe regardless…”

The rapper, who has come under fire for being outdoors at the time of the accident amid the UK’s coronavirus-related lockdown, also shared images of his injuries in the tweet, which can be found below.
