Premiere: YAZZUS ‘Juiri’s Ultra Combo’

Berlin-based club night and queer platform Hoe__mies are releasing a new V/A compilation dedicated to supporting the relief efforts in Gaza. Hear YAZZUS’ contribution, ‘Juiri’s Ultra Combo’, below.

Comprising 17 tracks, ‘Hoe__mies 4 Palestine’ spotlights artists based between Barcelona, Melbourne, Lisbon, Berlin, Paris, London and beyond, bonded by a love for club music filled with trippy curveballs and a commitment to making a difference through their art. From bass-charged belters and two-step twisters courtesy of VON DI, DAWS, Spacer Woman and ketia, to hyperactive genre-hybrids from dj g2g, mi-el, TTRRAACCAA, and more, it’s the pièce de résistance in both sounding and doing good.

Fresh from recent releases for Tresor and mixed-media label Never Sleep, Ghana-born, Berlin-based producer Yazzus lands on the compilation with her own strobing club workout, ‘Juiri’s Ultra Combo’. Propelled by rattling percussion and sub-bass throbs, but coloured with the same infectious, playful energy of a producer who just released an edit pack made up of reworks of classic video game soundtracks, this is Yazzus at the peak of her production powers.

All profits generated from the release will go to Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières relief efforts.

‘Hoe__mies 4 Palestine’ is out 22nd March. Pre-order the compilation here, and have an exclusive first listen to YAZZUS’ ‘Juiri’s Ultra Combo’ below.
