Premiere: Drummy ‘K1’

Premiere: Drummy ‘K1’

Kindergarten Records returns with a split EP from Brooklyn’s Drummy and Martini, ‘Datura’. Have an exclusive first listen to Drummy’s ‘K1’ below.

With a slippery collaborative stepper, ‘Persuasion’, serving as its centrepiece, this new five tracker from the label regulars encompasses everything that’s made Kindergarten such a fun imprint to follow over the past few years. Scattershot percussion and warped sub-bass abound, weaving around another, leaving sparks of sci-fi FX, cyborg vocal snatches and glossy synths in their midst.

Drummy – who last appeared alongside Martini on the label’s compilation for Palestine in March – steps into dubstep territory on ‘Steep’, like listening to Coki’s ‘Goblin’ while veering your ship into a distant galaxy. ‘K1’ takes a more technoid stance, its modulated bells, shimmery synths and marching snares swirling round a syncopated beat.

‘Datura’ will be released on 8th November. Pre-order it here.
