Pioneer unveils new DJ controller for beginners, DDJ-FLX4

Pioneer has revealed a new DJ controller aimed at beginners and for casual DJing.

The DDJ-FLX4 is a two-channel controller with rekordbox and Serato compatibility for PC and Mac. Android and iPhone users will also be able to use rekordbox’s mobile app via USB or Bluetooth for further portability from early 2023. TIDAL, Beatport, Beatsource and SoundCloud Go+ subscribers can also integrate their streaming libraries directly via rekordbox.

The upcoming controller has new Smart Mixing features suited to help learning DJs get a feel for mixing and making adjustments while playing. Smart Fader automatically tweaks the volume, bass and BPM for smoother transitions, while Smart CFX provides several easy-access sound-effect options to add more personal touches to mixes.

The Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 is out now with a price tag of £279 and €319.

Pioneer’s last rekordbox update added the ability to analyse library tracks from the cloud. In May, the DJ tech company released a battle mixer and desktop speakers at a more affordable price point.
