Peckham pub, The Greyhound, to reopen under The Cause and All My Friends team

The team behind The Cause and All My Friends are taking over a pub in Peckham.

The Greyhound will reopen on Peckham High Street with new management, look, food and drink menu and event programming later this month, with weekends-only parties as a soft launch from 8th March. Once it’s in full swing, the pub will be open Tuesdays through Sundays with a 1:30 AM license. It’ll be fitted with a DI Audio soundsystem, like the team’s new primary venue in the Docklands.

Music programming will have a South London focus, highlighting DJs with links to local institutions Rye Wax, Balamii, Dash The Henge and the Rising Sun Collective, like Ambient Babestation Meltdown, FYI Chris, Meg Paine, Richard Sen and more. The Cause residents will also be in the mix, alongside other events like musical pub quizzes, zine fairs, markets and more.

The restaurant side of business is helmed by London restaurateur Neil Gill, of Season Kitchen, The Lamb Beer & Liquor, Deli At 80 and more. From March 19th, the pub kitchen will open and serving “standard bar fare”, according to The Greyhound’s website. In keeping with its name, the pub will be dog friendly and have a menu of treats and “beers” just for dogs.

“Nearly nine months in the making, we are really proud to present our latest venture, our first tip toe into the pub game, with a twist we all hope you will love!” The Cause cofounder Eugene Wild said in a press statement. “The food, drinks, music and programming have been curated to complement each other, with a view to keeping you entertained from all angles all day. Just what a boozer should be about”.

In January, The Cause confirmed its 60 Dock Road space would be its new temporary home, after an 18-month soft-opening at the industrial site. The team’s Hackney Wick pop-up venue All My Friends opened in October as a three-month project and is still going strong

The Cause’s first Tottenham Hale home, opened in spring 2018, closed for good in January 2022 after a series of extensions. Revisit Simon Doherty’s recounting of The Cause’s 2022 closing party and ode to the unique independent venue here.
