OutKast’s Dungeon Family home studio is now available on Airbnb

News

The Atlanta house that OutKast recorded a number of their early hit singles in has been made available to rent through Airbnb.

Big Boi, one-half of the duo, is offering fans the opportunity to stay in The Dungeon, which is the home of the studio where The Dungeon Family created various tracks for OutKast, Goodie Mob and others. The experience has been launched to tie in with Black Music Month in June.

Big Boi bought the one-bedroom, one-bathroom home two years ago, planning to “welcome the next generation of artists to the space that inspired countless songs”. As well as staying the night, the experience will offer guests guided access to the basement studio where Big Boi and André 3000 recorded early classic tracks for their first two albums, ‘Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik’ and ‘ATLiens’.

“Atlanta is my home, and I grew up with The Dungeon Family in this house,” Big Boi said in a statement. “We would spend hours hanging out in the basement, writing rhymes and putting together beats at all hours of the night. Since purchasing the home, I’ve been excited to open its doors and welcome the next generation of artists to the space that inspired countless songs.”

There are only three one-night stays available for booking at The Dungeon on June 29, July 1, and July 3, at $25 per night. Reservations will open on June 25 at 1:00pm ET here, where you can find the full listing. People hoping to reserve an experience must currently live in the US due to coronavirus restrictions.

Last year, OutKast released a 20th anniversary edition of their album ‘Stankonia’ on vinyl.
