Nicolás Jaar launches grant programs for aspiring artists

Nicolás Jaar has launched two grant programs for aspiring artists.

Teaming up with his label, Other People, the Chilean-American musician and producer has opened applications for two separate eight-week programs, OVERTONES and LADRIDOS.

Offering a financial grant of $4,375 per participant, access to a music industry educational curriculum, and Ableton production and creative guidance from Jaar himself, OVERTONES and LADRIDOS are aimed toward aspiring electronic artists based in LA and Spanish-speaking artists in the Americas respectively.

While OVERTONES sees Jaar and Other People team up with nonprofit grant system The Rising Artist Foundation, LADRIDOS is a collaboration between Jaar and Chilean electronic music magazine Grieta.

Applications for both programs can be made here and here.

The deadline for entries is 13th May for OVERTONES and 14th June for LADRIDOS.

Back in February, Jaar released ‘Weavings’, an album version of his 2020 perfomance-based project of the same name.
