New 900-capacity open-air club SoundYard opening in Liverpool

No line-ups have been shared at the time of writing, but collaborations with local names have been confirmed, including YeahitsRennee and Conduit Sound. Bookings will showcase emerging names from Merseyside, the North West and wider UK, and international artists.

Programming also extends to the monthly YardSale, where stalls will sell vintage clothing, streetwear, vinyl and work by local artists. DJ sets will provide a soundtrack. Meanwhile, a twice-monthly Disco Brunch combines bottomless drinks and sharing plates with yet more music.

“Alongside our already existing network of brilliant grassroots venues we can welcome what looks to be one of the most exciting additions to our already vibrant electronic music scene,”  said Kevin MacManus, Head of UNESCO City of Music for Liverpool.

A competition is currently running via the SoundYard social channels to win free entry to every event held during the opening season.

In other news from the city, from this month a new scheme is being trialled which will see money seized from criminal organisations and individuals used to fund DJ and production workshops. The initiative is an extension of Operation Payback, a Merseyside Police programme which has donated £250,000 to the community since 2022.
