Moor Mother shares new single and video, ‘All The Money’: Watch

Moor Mother has dropped a new single, ‘All The Money’, alongside an accompanying video. Watch it below.

The new single is lifted from the artist’s ninth album and her third for ANTI- Records, titled ‘The Great Bailout’. It follows ‘Jazz Codes’, which dropped back in 2022.

‘All The Money’ questions the origins of wealth in the United Kingdom, namedropping famous landmarks across the capital. According to the press release, the song draws attention to “the iconic bastions of Great Britain that we take pride in and asks the question we forget – where’d they get all the money?”

The thematic core of the nine-track LP centres on displacement and British colonialism, with a particular focus on two pivotal Acts of Parliament: the 1833 Slavery Abolition Act and the 1835 Slavery Abolition Act. Scheduled for release 8th March, the album is currently available for pre-order

‘All The Money’’s accompanying music video was directed by filmmaker and multimedia artist Cauleen Smith – a professor at UCLA whose work is centres around Afrofuturism, black feminism, and African American identity. The video shows crime scene-esque imagery of British royalty, landmarks, and politicians.

Speaking on the album, Moor Mother said: “Displacement and its effects are not discussed enough. The PTSD of displacement should be a focus, and as we have the opportunity to learn about things happening in the world, we also have the opportunity to learn about ourselves. We’ve been through so many different acts of systematic violence.”

Moor Mother announced the new album last month, unveiling its first track, titled ‘Guilty’. The song features collaborations with Lonnie Holley, Mary Lattimore, and Raia Was, and you can listen to it here
