Gorillaz release new single, 'Cracker Island (ft. Thundercat)': Listen

Gorillaz have released their first new music of 2022, a Thundercat-featuring track called ‘Cracker Island’.

Out today (22nd June), the track was first teased by the group earlier this month via a series of images and social media posts. It’s been a fixture of Gorillaz’s live shows for some time.

Alongside the release of the track, a special website has been launched – called The Last Cult. Gorillaz member Murdoc is said to be the cult’s “self-appointed Great Leader”, with the group having relocated to Silverlake, California for its founding.

Speaking about the new track, Gorillaz’s 2D said: “It’s nice to be back, I’m well into our new tune, it brings back weird and scary memories of stuff that hasn’t happened yet.”

Gorillaz are currently on tour with an appearance lined up later this summer at London’s All Points East.
