Shcuro – Echo Chamber

Shcuro – Echo Chamber

Much like his beloved hometown Lisbon, the techno that Shcuro makes is hot and fast. Take ‘Deviation (Rework)’ — track three of his latest project — whose sweltering backbeats lean toward the lethargic funk of guaracha. Then there’s the swathy humidity of distorted arpeggios on ‘Suspension (Rework)’, and compressed, hydraulic chords melting all over ‘No Expectations’. His techno gleefully slinks away from the austerity of Europe’s north — less about architecture, more about embodiment. ‘Echo Chamber’ is a masterfully layered, high-octane vanitas of Lisbon’s underground that clings like condensation to the walls of a steaming, heaving dancefloor that shows no sign of cooling down.
