DJ Lag releases debut album, ‘Meeting With The King’: Listen

Gqom trailblazer DJ Lag has unleashed his hotly anticipated debut album, ‘Meeting With The King’, via Ice Drop and Black Major. Check it out below.

The 15-track release channels the Durban-originating house strain with which DJ Lag is synonymous while also championing the world-dominating sound of amapiano. 

‘Meeting With The King’ boasts collaborations with amapiano songwriter Lady Du (‘Lucifer’) as well as tracks with Blaqchild (‘New Wave’), Amanda Black (‘Destiny’), Ndoni (‘Thongo Lami’) and other artists.

“I’m not playing games with anyone. I’m aggressive. It’s like fighting with everyone. It’s my first full length project and I didn’t want to do anything half-way,” DJ Lag said of his intention behind the album.

‘Meeting With The King’ is now available on streaming services. This new LP follows DJ’s Lag’s celebrated 2019 EP ‘Uhuru’ and a string of singles including 2020’s ‘Jungle’ featuring NOTA.
