Daft Punk release re-mastered ‘Da Funk’ video: Watch
Daft Punk have released a re-mastered version of their ‘Da Funk’ video.
“Still celebrating ‘Homework’ 25th anniversary,” read a post on the duo’s Instagram yesterday (8th November). ‘Da Funk’ is the last track on the pair’s classic ‘Homework’ album, originally released in 1997. The video, titled ‘Big City Nights’, was directed by Spike Jonze and is focused around an anthropomorphised dog called Charles. Watch the video below.
In other Daft Punk news, Daniel Vangarde, the father of Thomas Bangalter, recently announced a new archival compilation album. Vangarde, who is responsible for co-writing and producing hits including Ottowan’s ‘D.I.S.C.O.’, has been credited with helping Daft Punk in the early stages of their career.
Last month, the duo officially joined TikTok, forming a direct deal with the platform that gives fans access to music from their back catalogue for use in creating creations. Daft Punk, aka Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, have held onto the rights to their music since the ’90s.
Earlier this year, a virtual reality experience based around the live performances of the pair debuted in Los Angeles and a remastered version of their ‘Revolution 909’ music video along with some archival footage was unveiled. Back in April, they launched a new website, which is now embedded with their first TikTok post.
