BBC Radio 1 has revealed the newest members of the Radio 1 Residency line-up.

After announcing Joy Orbison, DJ EZ, Amelie Lens and SHERELLE as residents on Radio 1 last summer, the station has now announced the latest names to be joining the weekly rotation, which will kick off on the 1st March, and continue throughout the month.

The latest additions come in the form of two masterful club selectors, Carl Cox and Carista, with DJ/producer Avalon Emerson and Manchester’s Anz also set to join the station.

Two shows will run every Sunday night into Monday morning from 1-2AM and 2-3AM, bringing “listeners into the world of the biggest names in pioneering, high-energy Dance music from across the international club scene.”

Speaking about the residency, Coxy said: “Well one thing is for sure, I am really looking forward to coming back to BBC Radio 1 for The Residency. I’ve got so much new music to unleash, we’re going to need more than 6 weeks for sure. Turn it up, enjoy, sit back and relax – if not roll back the carpets and boogie away, it’s going to be an absolutely fantastic journey.”

“Before I’d ever been to a club, listening to Radio 1 shows like Benji B’s in my childhood bedroom helped me understand what DJing could be,” Anz added. “It’s an honour to be part of the BBC Radio 1 Residency and to join the canon of incredible DJs who’ve come before. I can’t wait to share more of the music I love, with more people!”

You can listen to the Radio 1 Residency from the 1st March via the station or BBC Sounds, where Joy Orbison and Anz are set to kick the series off in style.
