CamelPhat announce new album, ‘Spiritual Milk’

CamelPhat have announced a new album. ‘Spiritual Milk’ will arrive on 15th September via the duo’s own When Stars Align label. You can pre-save the release now

The record will be the pair’s first long-form outing since 2020’s debut ‘Dark Matter’. A host of guest appearances have been confirmed, including Anyma, Max Milner, SOHN, Mathame and Frýnn, Jake Bugg, Kölsch, Shimza, and Julia Church. The pair teased the album last month when they released their collaborative single, ‘Higher’.

Hot Natured member Ali Love also provides vocals to the track ‘Compute’, which samples Kraftwerk’s seminal ‘Computer Love’. The ‘modern psychedelic’ cover art was created by US-based multidisciplinary artist Niko Christian, AKA c-nik.

“’Spiritual Milk’ is our brand new second album. It’s another journey through various styles of sound. We’ve felt a lot less pressure delivering this record possibly due to the fact it’s on our label, but also we’re at a point in our career where we can possibly afford to be more expressive and less fearful about what other people think,” CamelPhat said in a statement.

“It has definitely come from the heart and feels honest both as writers and musicians. We’ve had fun with it, we’ve made music less with the dance floor in mind and more with our emotions. The whole thing came together surprisingly very easily,” they continued. “‘Spiritual Milk’ is a listening album, taking your mind away from everyday life. The name itself has captured the overall essence of the album perfectly. Take the trip and enjoy the ride.”

This summer CamelPhat have reprised their weekly residency at Ibiza institution Pacha, taking over Sunday nights between May and October. The club itself celebrates its 50th birthday in 2023. Following the season, the pair have confirmed two at the UK’s biggest electronic music-focused venues.

Saturday 21st October sees them take over The Warehouse Project in Manchester with Ben Böhmer (live), Fideles, Rebūke, Layla Benitez, Kas:st, Miss Monique, Azzecca, and James Organ. Tickets are on sale now. Then on Saturday 25th November they curate a night at new North London space Drumsheds. No lineup has been confirmed — register for updates here
