Tomorrowland will host its debut event in China this winter
Tomorrowland is set to host its debut event in China this winter, taking place on Saturday 22nd November at Shanghai’s Hero Dome.
Today (3rd July), the festival mega-brand unveiled plans for the inaugural edition of The Magic of Tomorrowland, which it says will combine “music, innovation, and storytelling”, offering fans a “fully immersive indoor experience” with cutting-edge visuals and as-yet-to-be-announced big-name DJs.
The event will be based around the theme of Paperworld, where “imagination, sound, and technology come to life”, and sees Tomorrowland bring Hero Esports in as a partner on the event.
“This November, we invite you to step inside a new chapter of the Tomorrowland story — right here in the heart of Huangpu, at the Hero Dome, just steps from the Bund,” shared Clinton Lau, head of music festivals at Hero Esports.
“This won’t be a traditional outdoor festival. This will be a fully immersive indoor show — designed specifically from the ground up to create intimacy, intensity, and impact, no matter the weather or the world outside. You’ll experience the sound, the stage design, the storytelling — all the signature elements that define Tomorrowland — reimagined through the lens of China, and brought to life in one unforgettable space”.
“We are incredibly proud to bring the Magic of Tomorrowland to China for the very first time — and even more special: to debut our first-ever indoor show,” added Bruno Vanwelsenaers, CEO of Tomorrowland International.
“China has an incredibly dynamic and fast-evolving music, entertainment, and nightlife scene. There’s a growing appetite for meaningful experiences — and that’s exactly what Tomorrowland stands for. We sincerely thank our incredible local partners and teams here in China — at Hero Esports, INS Land and Budweiser. Your passion, professionalism and creative energy made this dream a reality. We couldn’t have asked for a better team to start this new chapter with.”
Information about ticket sales and artist line-up announcements for The Magic of Tomorrowland will be released in September. Stay tuned for more info via the Tomorrowland site here.
Meanwhile, it was reported last month that Tomorrowland Thailand 2026 is “closer to reality” than ever after a meeting took place between the country’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Bruno Vanwelsenaers, CEO of Tomorrowland International.
Tomorrowland was recently voted the No.1 Festival In The World in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Festivals poll. The Belgium festival’s flagship edition in Boom will take place on 18th-20th July and 25th-27th July 2025, with this year marking its 19th edition.
