Burial’s soundtrack for Harmony Korine’s Baby Invasion film to premiere at immersive screening
Burial’s soundtrack for director Harmony Korine’s new film, Baby Invasion, is to feature prominently at an immersive New York premiere taking place next month.
Scheduled for Friday, 21st March at the Knockdown Center in Queens, the event will feature a screening of the film itself with live mixing by Korine. It will also be followed by DJ sets from Yves Tumor, Eyedress and the director himself.
Baby Invasion is filmed in the style of first-person shooter game and allows the viewer to take on the role of a member of a group of mercenaries who wear baby-face masks and steal from the homes of the wealthy.
The film first premiered at Venice Film Festival in September of last year. Korine confirmed Burial’s involvement in its soundtrack last July. The director later revealed that he never actually met the illusive producer while working on the film and that the music for the feature was sent to him via PS5.
Burial previously scored Andrea Arnold’s film Bird last year.
The producer also released a two-track record for XL Recordings, ‘Dreamfear / Boy Sent From Above’, last February, and the split 12″ EP, ‘Phoneglow / Eyes Go Blank’, with Kode9 via Hyperdub last June.
