Armin van Buuren is The World’s No. 1 Trance DJ in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2022

Armin van Buuren has won The World’s No. 1 Trance DJ award in this year’s DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll.

Placing No. 5 in the overall list, the five-time DJ Mag Top 100 DJs winner continued his run as The World’s No.1 Trance DJ, as well as an incredible legacy of 21 years in the top five of the Top 100 DJs.

“It’s been great to be back on the road after the pandemic,” Van Buuren said, talking to DJ Mag about the win. “If anything, I’m more thankful than ever to be on stage and to be able to share my music with the crowd. Because of corona[virus], I produced a lot of music, so it felt really good to finally see the crowd react to it.”

His ASOT radio show is now well over its 1000th broadcast, and this month he expanded his work in radio by taking charge of Dutch station Radio 538’s dance department.

1.3 million votes were counted from 243 countries in this year’s Top 100 DJs poll. Among the smaller territories who participated, we received votes from St Kitts & Nevis, Djibouti, Micronesia, Isle of Man, Palau, the Falkland Islands, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Tuvalu, Montserrat, and even a vote from the Vatican City, demonstrating the truly global reach of the Top 100 DJs poll.
