Man attempts to snorkel into Ultra Music Festival, gets VIP ticket

A fan tried to skip the ticket queues at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival by snorkelling into the venue.

Jack Davidson shared his underwater adventure on TikTok, where he (and presumably a friend who filmed from shore) documented his swim around Bayfront Park. On the way, he was “almost” caught near docks where he was spotted by someone and the video notes all the police and security boats posted around the venue. His snorkeling scheme was eventually thwarted and Davidson was collected by a police boat and taken to shore.

In a surprising turn of events, instead of banning Davidson from the festival, security thought his plan was “so funny” that they rewarded him with a VIP wristband. A three-day VIP ticket for Ultra Miami starts at $1,000, while standard passes run from $300.

Davidson’s clip ends with shots of him raving in full-on snorkelling gear and even pouring beer into his snorkel mask. His TikTok bio stresses his “story is 100% real” and he reassured doubters in the comments with, “I think it’s crazy too but I promise it happened.”

This year’s Ultra Music Festival, which ran from 25th to 27th March, was its first edition since 2019 the coronavirus pandemic began, and its return to Bayfront Park after ongoing tensions with locals and an alternate location.
