LL Cool J announces new album, ‘The Force’, produced by A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip

LL Cool J has announced the release of a new album produced by A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip.

Out on 6th September via Def Jam Recordings / Virgin Music Group, ‘The Force (Frequencies of Real Creative Energy)’ packs in a dazzling array of guest stars: Nas, Eminem, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes, Saweetie, Snoop Dogg, Don Pablito, J-S.A.N.D., Mad Squablz, and Sona Jobarteh.

“We’re talking 14 tracks of straight fire, all crafted by myself and the one and only Q-Tip,” says the New York rapper and actor in a press release. “When you listen to this album, you’re not just hearing music, you’re experiencing a whole new vibe, a whole new level of artistic passion.”

The LP — his first in 11 years — includes the previously released first single ‘Saturday Night Special’, featuring Rick Ross and Fat Joe, and new single ‘Passion’, which you can check out below.

L Cool J was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. That same year, he was among the legendary hip-hop artists to attend a ground-breaking ceremony that marked the official launch of building for the new Universal Hip Hop Museum.

In 2022, a solar-powered bronze statue of the star surfaced in New York, created by Sherwin Banfield, who called it a “labour of love”.
