EQ50 releases 23-track jungle and drum & bass compilation in aid of Gaza: Listen

Drum & bass collective EQ50 have put together a new compilation to raise money for charitable projects working inside Palestine.

‘4GAZA’ takes in 23 new tracks by some of the drum & bass scene’s leading producers, including Rupture’s Double O, Halogenix, Mani Festo, Charla Green and Visages. There are also collaborative cuts featured between Mantra, Decibella & Tim Reaper, and Chimpo & Dub Phizix, among others.

In a statement, EQ50 said: “Like so many, we have been horrified and deeply affected by the current and ongoing genocide, crimes against humanity, devastation, and displacement of people in Gaza and beyond. Spurred by the dire situation and acute need to help in as many ways as possible, we called on our support network of talented producers, asking them to contribute a piece of music to this fundraising project – and they definitely came through with the goods.”

All profits from sales of the release will be split between Anera, an ‘on the ground’ organisation helping refugees and others hurt by conflicts in Palestine, Lebanon and Jordan since 1968, and DecolonizePalestine, an independent self-funded collection of resources for organisers and anyone who wants to learn more about Palestine, founded by two Palestinians living in Ramallah.

“It’s our moral obligation to continue demanding and pushing for an end to the Israeli occupation and all apartheid states – please keep calling for a permanent ceasefire, safe return of more prisoners and hostages, marching, emailing MPs, and amplifying Palestinian voices,” EQ50 added.

The compilation is one of a large number of fundraising releases shared across the electronic music scene in recent weeks amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. You can find a round-up of some of the releases here.

Over 4000 musicians have signed an open letter calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, making them one of a number of groups of cultural figures to have applied pressure to end the bloodshed.
