Exploring The Beat With Stoked: A Journey Through Techno’s Pulse
The electronic music scene vibrates with the unique energy of artists who transcend boundaries and experiment with sound.
Among these artists, Stoked stands out with his dynamic blend of techno rhythms and cultural depth. From his initial fascination with his father’s retro disco records to his mesmerizing experience at Fatboy Slim’s performance in 2002, Stoked’s journey into DJing and production has been a compelling ride toward the pulse of techno.
“My path into DJing and production can be traced back to watching Fat Boy Slim perform at Brighton Beach in 2002,” Stoked recalls. “That pivotal moment made me realize that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.” This early exposure to vibrant beats and crowd energy laid the foundation for his deep dive into the world of electronic music.
Influenced by house music legends like Frankie Knuckles and techno pioneers such as Jeff Mills, Stoked has honed a style that intricately blends his Indian roots with robust techno beats. “When I started off, I was inspired by House music icons such as Frankie Knuckles and Marshall Jefferson,” he explains. This deep respect for the genre’s roots combined with his unique heritage allows him to create a sound that is both fresh and deeply reverent.
Breaking into the competitive European dance scene posed significant challenges, but Stoked’s unique identity and sound eventually carved out a space for him. “Breaking into the European dance scene was challenging due to the competitive market and the need to establish a unique identity,” he mentions. He overcame these challenges by “focusing on blending my Indian roots with techno to stand out.” His persistence paid off at performances in major festivals like Sonne Mond Sterne, where he shared the stage with techno titans.
One of Stoked’s most memorable career highlights came from performing at the Sonne Mond Sterne Festival. “Headlining alongside incredible artists like Enrico Sangiuliano, Lily Palmer, and Charlotte de Witte was truly surreal,” he shares. This performance not only affirmed his place in the techno world but also marked a significant milestone in his career trajectory.
As the founder of BITONAL, Stoked’s vision for the brand has evolved from a touring agency to a beacon of high-energy techno experiences in India. “Our first-ever Arena Concept show, Dual-Tone, is proof of this evolution,” he points out. BITONAL not only showcases global techno talents but also creates immersive experiences that reflect Stoked’s passion for music and his cultural heritage.
Through collaborations, such as his work with Teenage Mutants on ‘Climax’, Stoked continues to push the boundaries of techno. “Working with Teenage Mutants was an incredibly enriching experience,” he reflects. “Both of us wanted to create something that was not only a peak-time banger but also had depth and our unique character.”
Looking ahead, Stoked is determined to expand his influence and deepen the cultural impact of his music. He envisions a future where his tracks not only fill dance floors but also enrich the global dance music scene with diversity and innovation.
To his fans and readers, Stoked extends a heartfelt message: “I want to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and for being a part of this amazing journey with me. Stay tuned for more experiences and news, and until then, get stoked, stay stoked, and keep smooshing!”
Stoked’s story is a testament to the power of passion and perseverance in the ever-evolving world of electronic music. His journey from inspired listener to influential creator continues to inspire and energize the global dance music community.
