NYC-based singer-songwriter Vincent Poag is taking the heritage left by one his mentor, Bob Dylan, into the 21st century. His new album Masquerade is a great reflection of his creative approach, mixing several genres into his own aesthetics over a folk-rock base. Born in Long Island in the 1950’s, Vincent Poag experienced what many can simply dream of; the Broadway musical era, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley concerts. 

That’s also the time when a unique new breed of artist appeared; the singer-songwriter, and Vincent felt he belonged to that category of musician. Between influence and inspiration, there’s a gap, as Poag shares: “I’ve been influenced by many great artists but Bob Dylan inspired me.” 

Some of his most popular records include the single “This Christmas” from the album Circling Back, peaking at #34 on the FMQB/ACQB Chart, but also the single “Stress,” that placed #5 on the FMQB/ACQB chart, alongside artists like OneRepublic, Adele, and Coldplay.

The single and music video “America” is also one of Vincent’s most wide-reaching releases to date. 

The simplicity of his melodies, as well as his effortless ability to move from reggae to blues, jazz and rock in a fluid and extremely smooth way is what seduces his millions of fans in the world. In addition, Poag always strives to explore the new, never repeating what he has already done, instead focusing on the future and the endless possibilities it contains.
