Toronto is hiring a nightlife project manager
Toronto is looking to hire a new nightlife project manager.
Taking a cue from cities like New York, London and Amsterdam, which have permanently or temporarily established so-called ‘night czar’ roles, the full-time job will be part of the Toronto’s Visitor Economy Office. The project manager will be the main port of call on issues related to nightlife for the mayor’s office, councillors and other stakeholders.
Calling for an “ambassador and facilitator of Toronto’s vibrant night economy”, the job advert said the city welcomes more than 26.5 million visitors each year, while the visitor economy generates more than $12.6 billion in economic activity every year.
Among the listed duties for the successful applicant will be the expectation of leading an upcoming Night Economy Economic Impact Study; continuing to implement a five-year Toronto Nightlife Action Plan; and organising a regular Night Economy Town Hall, which will be open to the public to give their thoughts.
