upsammy announces new album, ‘Germ In A Population Of Buildings’, on PAN

upsammy has shared details of her second album, ‘Germ In A Population Of Buildings’.

The 10-track record marks the Dutch artist’s first outing on PAN, and follows on from her 2020 debut album for Dekmantel, ‘Zoom’. The tracks across the new record, according to a press release, are “rooted in her interest for ambiguous environments in constant shift, and the feeling of discovering strange patterns in different ecosystems”.

‘Germ In A Population Of Buildings’ makes use of field recordings and various environmental sounds, combining those elements with upsammy’s distinctive, unstable and IDM-influenced rhythmic patterns.

You can listen to lead track ‘Being Is A Stone’ ahead of the album’s full 5th May release below.

upsammy’s album marks the second full-length release of 2023 for PAN, with Tzusing set to release ‘绿帽 Green Hat’ via the label on 31st March.
