Tomorrowland releases first ever comic book, The Odes of Orbyz

Tomorrowland has released its first-ever comic book, The Odes of Orbyz.

Described as an illustrated journey into the origin story of Tomorrowland’s 2025 festival theme, the comic features 60 pages illustrated with recognisable elements and imagery from the 2025 event.

“It allows fantasy fans around the world to delve into the storytelling world of Tomorrowland and explore the magical tale within the comic, regardless of their physical attendance at the festival,” the festival shared.

Originally written by Tomorrowland, The Odes of Orbyz was adapted into comic form by acclaimed writer Chris Roberson, and brought to life by a team of international comic artists. It revolves around an indigenous community hiding beneath a giant ice cap. As this melts due to global warming, a powerful source of light and energy is revealed in the form of red rocks and crystals.

The narrative has informed significant aspects of Tomorrowland’s physical site, including stage and costume design,  and promises to open up “a whole new world” for attendees to explore.

The comic shares its name with the third fantasy adventure novel published by Tomorrowland, which captures the “complete origin story” of the festival’s 2025 theme.

Tomorrowland first publicly revealed that it was working on a fantasy fiction novel series in 2022. Its debut fantasy adventure novel, The Rise of Adscendo, arrived a year later.

The 19th edition of Tomorrowland kicked off this afternoon (18th July), in Boom, Belgium after a challenging week for festival organisers. On Wednesday (16th July), the festival’s Orbyz main stage was completely destroyed in a huge fire which broke out during the final stages of construction, and an entirely new stage had to be built in its place.

Tour parts from Metallica’s WorldWired stage and rig were used to help build the alternative main stage, which opened to the public as planned today, 18th July. The World’s No. 1 DJ Martin Garrix is set to headline the stage this evening.
