Tomorrowland has named Avicii’s ‘Levels’ as the biggest track in the festival’s history.

In the second edition of Tomorrowland’s Top 1000 poll, a publicly-voted round-up of its most memorable anthems, fans chose the late EDM legend’s breakthrough track as their No.1, knocking Swedish House Mafia’s ‘One’ from the top spot.

Between the 11th and 22nd May, Tomorrowland’s One World Radio played 100 tracks a day from the poll, counting down until the top voted anthem was revealed. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Moguai’s ‘Mammoth’ came in at No. 2 again, while David Guetta & Sia’s ‘titanium’ took the No.2 spot.  Other artists in the top 10 include Tomorrowland regulars such as Armin van Buuren and Martin Garrix.

The Swedish EDM star’s legacy and influence on the world of electronic music endures, with hit ‘Wake Me Up’ being named as the highest charting dance track of the decade. Earlier in the year, Avicii was awarded two posthumous Swedish Grammys for his album ‘TIM’, which was completed by friends and collaborators. Just this month, ‘TIM’ won the award for Best Album at this year’s International Dance Music Awards.

Tomorrowland’s 2020 edition was officially cancelled in April due to the coronavirus pandemic. Despite that, the Belgian festival has been keeping fans entertained during lockdown with weekly live streams featuring the likes of Carl Cox. It also shared an informative digital booklet in the wake of its cancellation, featuring information surrounding the festival’s cancellation, as well as interviews with DJs, virologist Marc van Ranst and Minister-President of Flanders Jan Jambon.
