Tomorrowland may host third weekend in 2021
News
Tomorrowland organisers have said that a third weekend may happen in 2021.
After weeks of rumours and deliberation, it was revealed in April by Belgium’s National Security Council that large scale events would be banned until 31st August, cancelling Tomorrowland’s flagship July festival.
Following the announcement of a digital alternative for the festival this year, Tomorrowland Around The World, organisers have told Belgian newspaper, Gazet Van Antwerpen, that a third weekend could happen in 2021.
Speaking to the press, Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby Wilmsen said: “A third weekend Tomorrowland could be a solution for everyone involved to make up for the completely lost 2020 season and all its consequences. But that is still a distant future in the current circumstances and nothing has been discussed or decided yet. In any case, we are waiting to see how the situation will evolve in the coming months. Like governments, we cannot see very far into the future at the moment.”
