The Cause announces impending closure with Beginning of the End event series

News

London club The Cause has revealed what may be the final series of shows at its Tottenham Hale home.

Having opened in 2018, the team behind the club say it was always due to be a temporary project owing to the ongoing regeneration and property development going on around the venue. With the team anticipating that the final stages of some of those developments approaching could spell the end for the club in its current form, they’re going all out with their latest series of parties which will take them through to the end of the year.

The news marks the latest chapter in the club’s story that has seen the owners battle with council licensing issues – the Tottenham club was forced to close temporarily due to planned property development in late 2019, but was able to eventually continue.

“The writing really is on the wall for The Cause in its current format and we’re absolutely gutted to see the club winding down,” said club co-founder Stuart Glen. “It really does feel like the odds are stacked against us with multi-story residential buildings rising up all around us and the challenges we undoubtedly will face by impending residents.”

Titling their latest series of parties ‘The Beginning of the End’, the run of dates will take in such highlights as a four-day Boiler Room festival, a link-up with Call Super and Parris’ can you feel the sun label, and appearances across various parties from the likes of upsammy, DJ Paulette, Anz, Peach, Move D, Bradley Zero, Barker, Simo Cell, Erol Alkan and much more.

This weekend, The Cause hosts two all-day-long sets from Ben UFO, taking place across 11th and 12th September.
