Space Ibiza owner Pepe Roselló says the club will return ‘before 2022’

Pepe Roselló, the original founder and owner of much-loved Ibiza club Space, has said that the venue could return ‘before 2022’.

Roselló hinted at plans to bring the club back in an interview with Ibiza-based publication Noudiari, but remained fairly vague about what form the new club might take, aside from revealing that he hoped it may be able to return before next year.

When asked if the new project might involve Carl Cox, a regular at Space until it closed in October 2016, Roselló replied: “All the projects I have done in my life, I have done with Carl Cox. Some with success and others with less success. I always count on him.”

Cox previously spoke about being involved in building a new Space Ibiza in September 2018, with Roselló having also been named as one of those to be involved in the venture at the time.

Roselló went on to offer his view about the presence of VIP areas in Ibiza’s clubs, as well as what this summer’s season might look like on the island for clubs and tourism at large.

Last month, Spain’s tourism minister said Ibiza will be able to “reopen safely” from June, with the government having previously discussed the possibility of readying vaccination passports for tourists.
