DJ Haram shares video for ‘Stenography’, featuring Armand Hammer: Watch

DJ Haram has shared a video for ‘Stenography’, her recent collaboration with rap duo Armand Hammer. You can watch it below.

Directed by Alli Logout and edited by Ngu Asongwed, the visual explores ideas surrounding identity and belonging in the digital era, alongside the track’s ominous frequencies and beats.

Speaking about the concept, Asongwed shared: “We have entered the Uncanny Valley, made a settlement and subjugated the indigenous population. The act of stenography is to record reality, but is reality physical space or based on individual perspective? Have we killed objective truth?

“That’s what the song and the video pushes me to ask. How real is real? How solid is our reality when someone can just ‘Delete, Delete, Delete!’?”

‘Stenography’ appeared on DJ Haram’s recent album for Hyperdub, ‘Beside Myself’, which marked her third full-length release for the label following 2019’s ‘Grace’ and 2023’s ‘Handplay’.  Alongside Armand Hammer (E L U C I D + billy woods), the album features guest contributions from Moor Mother, Bbymutha and El Kontessa, Kay Drizz and more.
