Serato expands support for Native Instruments and Pioneer DJ controllers

Serato has announced a new update — version 3.2.1 — and has added support for three of the most popular beginner DJ controllers.

Until now, Serato Pro and Lite only supported official Serato controllers, and v3.2.1 is the first time this support has been extended to non-Serato controllers.

The Pioneer DDJ-400 — now superseded by the DDJ-FLX4 — is one of the most popular entry-level controllers, and is now supported by Serato. The New Zealand company has also added support for the DDJ-200, an even more entry-level and simple controller. Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S2 and S3 are popular units among bedroom DJs, and both controllers have also been added to the Serato support list. You can read more about how to use these four controllers with Serato here.

While AlphaTheta’s acquisition of Serato has been on pause since the New Zealand Commerce Commission rejected the merger last month, this new update from Serato may hint at a closer relationship between the two companies, while the ongoing merger continues to be debated.

As for Traktor, it had its first update in a while last month, too, with Traktor Pro 4 bringing stem separation to Native Instrument’s long-running DJ app.
