SBTV founder Jamal Edwards dies, aged 31

Jamal Edwards, the founder of SBTV who was awarded an MBE in 2014 for his work in music, has reportedly died aged 31. No cause of death has been confirmed, but Edwards’ company confirmed the news of his passing to the BBC.

Edwards started SBTV in 2006, and the platform helped launch the careers of many artists, featuring work from Stormzy, Jessie J, Dave, Krept & Konan and many others.

Also a DJ, author, director and designer, Edwards was born in Luton, and was the son of Loose Women presenter Brenda Edwards.
