San Holo covers Alice Deejay ‘Better Off Alone’: Watch

San Holo has unveiled a cover version of the 1999 trance chart hit, ‘Better Off Alone’, by Alice Deejay.
Originally an instrumental track produced in 1997 by Sebastiaan Moljin and Eelke Kalberg (Dash Berlin), the new version takes the lyrics that made the tune famous — first sung by Judith Pronk — and puts them to a melancholic guitar solo based on the original bleeped harmony.
It’s the second time Holo has turned his hand to rethinking classic dance hits during the pandemic, having dropped a cover of Flux Pavilion’s ‘I Can’t Stop’ to mark the tune’s tenth anniversary last October.
‘Better Off Alone’ is one of a number of 1990s trance tracks that have had new life breathed into them recently. Last week, Charlotte de Witte and Enrico Sanguiliano announced a new version of ‘Age of Love’ by Age of Love, while Paul van Dyk also unveiled his take on Energy 52’s seminal Ibiza anthem, ‘Cafe del Mar’.
