Pro-Ject launches new turntable and vinyl noise reduction system

Pro-Ject has launched its new “audiophile” turntable and vinyl noise reduction system.

The Debut PRO S joins the original Debut PRO and features a 10” S-shaped tonearm and anti-magnetic heavy aluminum platter, which has a ring of TPE damping to help reduce resonance.

The turntable, which is capable of playing 33, 45, and 78 RPM records, comes with a Pick-IT S2 C cartridge pre-installed.

The company has also revealed its new vinyl reduction system, the Vinyl NRS Box S3, which “effectively removes noise and ‘crackles’ from older, worn vinyl records — restoring your listening experience to like the record was new again.” The box links the phono stage and amplifier, using a digital signal processing algorithm to improve playback.

Find out more and order from the Pro-Ject Audio site. The turntable is available now for £799. The Vinyl NRS Box S3 is priced at £289.

Earlier this year, audio equipment and furniture manufacturer Glorious launched a new affordable turntable for DJs and home use called the VNL-500, priced at €329.

Elsewhere, Yamaha’s Design Lab recently launched a music device app that turns your smartphone screen into a vinyl turntable. The TurnT comprises a portable speaker and a ‘stylus’ that sits on top of a smartphone screen and connects to Bluetooth in order to play selected music, while the song or album can be changed by swiping through a virtual library.
