Printworks to host orchestral event for BBC Proms 2022

Printworks London is set to host an orchestral event for the upcoming BBC Proms 2022.

The annual classical music extravaganza will stage a “genre-defying Prom” with the English National Opera, comprising “an immersive spectacle of music, dance, theatre, video, audio soundscapes and haute couture featuring contrasting works by Philip Glass and Handel”.

The event will also feature live painting from US painter George Condo, who collaborated with Ye on his 2010 album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, and costumes from Raf Simons, reports the Evening Standard.

Taking place between 15th July and 10th September, the 2022 edition of the BBC Proms will pay tribute to the music of the late Aretha Franklin, as well as marking the first-ever Gaming Prom. Presented by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under Robert Ames, From 8-Bit to Infinity will explore the history of computer gaming music. Visit the BBC Proms website for more info.

The Printworks Spring/Summer 2022 season is now in full swing, with Solomun scheduled to play on 1st May.
