Premiere: Scarlett O’Malley ‘Rendezvous Night Cue’

London’s Scarlett O’Malley will return to her Club Cowgirl label later this week with a new EP, ‘Clean Up Cowgirl’. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Rendezvous Night Cue’ below.

Set for release exactly a year since the launch of the label, which shares its name with O’Malley’s ongoing Rinse FM residency, the project tips its (cowboy) hat to club music’s past and present in equal measure, swooping from Latin-inspired tech house and hip-house to Detroit-devoted techno across three scorching cuts.

From the percussion-powered tech grooves of opener, ‘Rendezvous Night Cue’ – complete with a sample from ’90s dancehall luminary Patra – to the slamming beat and cybernetic lasers of closer ‘Dial Up Dreaming’, this is proper on-the-pulse material imbued with O’Malley’s peerless old-skool flair.

The project will be the London DJ, broadcaster and producer’s second EP via her own label this year and her third overall, following ‘Cool Down Cowboy’ in January and the label’s inaugural release, ‘Hey! Party People’ the previous October. Club Cowgirl shares its name with O’Malley’s ongoing Rinse FM residency, where she’s been joined by big-name guest stars including Demuja, Groove Armada, The Trip, ADMNTi and more.

‘Clean Up Cowgirl’ is scheduled for release on 11th October via Club Cowgirl. Pre-order the EP from Bandcamp here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Rendezvous Night Cue’ below.
