Premiere: Runkus, Royal Blu & Kush Arora ‘Life In The Jungle (Flore Remix)’

Jamaican duo Runkus and Royal Blu have linked up with Bay Area-based producer Kush Arora for a new EP, ‘Life In The Jungle’. You can listen to POLAAR label founder Flore’s remix of the title track below.

Produced during a late-night studio session in Oakland, California, the two original tracks that make up ‘Life In The Jungle’ merge Arora’s – aka Only Now – bass-fueled genre fusions with the Kingston MCs and singers’ velvety vocals. The release also comes paired with a suite of remixes from Flore, Scotch Rolex, Lukeino and Feel Free Hi Fi.

In her remix of ‘Life In The Jungle’, Flore reshapes the original track’s oscillations of thunderous percussion and atmospheric soundscapes into something fittingly dubwise, leading with an intro doused in tape echo and reverb-soaked vocals, before it accelerates into an out-and-out jungle climax, its blistering breaks and heaving bass taking Runkus and Royal Blu’s singing into an altogether ravier place.

‘Life In The Jungle’ will be released tomorrow, 13th September. Buy it here.
