Returning to his seminal imprint as an artist for the first time in over a year, the German electronic heavyweight delivers the first of three sterling singles from his August LP, ‘Searching For Peace’. Shimmering chords and rock solid kicks take centre stage on ‘Respect’ – a seven-minute deep techno trip with a high gloss finish, imbued with the timeless essence of an artist whose spent over three decades at the forefront of the house scene.
The single arrives alongside an emotionally-charged rework from Detroit techno pioneer, Robert Hood, who introduces thumping, fast-tracked drums and seductive loops into Leesker’s original mix. Have an exclusive first listen below.
‘Respect’ succeeds a series of colourful singles and edits from Roland Leesker, including a ‘You Got To Dance’ edit of Groove Armada’s ‘Rescue Me’, released last February, and 2022’s ‘I Get Deep’ EP alongside Roland Clark. That same year, Roland Leesker mixed and curated the crucial ‘20 x Get Physical’ compilation, featuring tracks from Hot Since 82, BLOND:ISH, Birds Of Mind, and more.
‘Respect’ is out 3rd May via Get Physical Music. Pre-order the single here.
