Premiere: Kiss Nuka ‘Dance of the Ravens (Aftermath)’
Kiss Nuka will release a new EP, ‘Witches Brew’, later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Dance of the Ravens (Aftermath)’ below.
On the heels of her November EP, ‘Raat Rani’, and an A/V performance on Glastonbury’s Greenpeace stage, the Indian producer and activist delivers four spectral dancefloor scorchers for Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce label. Darting between billowing ambient, pacey breaks and sizzling electro-pop, ‘Witches Brew’ illuminates the former Bollywood star’s free-spirited approach to electronica, which often touches on themes of nature, equality and feminine energy.
“This EP is dedicated to the strength and magic of women…” Kiss Nuka shared, “full of light and expansion yet holding the power to bring darkness when provoked. Here’s to the casting of spells, the celebration of the wild women and the celebration of their wisdom.”
The project’s lead single ‘Witches Brew’ arrived earlier this month in a haze of ravey drums and broken rhythms, conducted by Kiss Nuka’s own melismatic vocal, along with the heads-down heater ‘Dance Of The Ravens’. The B-side – landing on Friday (5th July) to complete the EP – is equally spellbinding, comprising the growling, bass-driven ‘Blood Moon’ and slower, more atmospheric modes of ‘Dance of the Ravens (Aftermath)’.
The release is Future Bounce’s third of 2024, following Bikôkô’s latest single, ‘Jealousy’, and a carnival edit of the classic soukous track ‘Femme Ivoririenne’ from Jamz and Sam Interface.
On 9th August, Future Bounce will be taking over London’s Barbican with performances from Kiss Nuka, Nídia, Yaw Evans, Toya Delazy and more. Tickets are available here.
‘Witches Brew’ is out 5th July via Future Bounce. Pre-order the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Dance of the Ravens (Aftermath)’ below.
