Premiere: Body Clinic & Wigs ‘NK Prog’

Body Clinic & Wigs have collaborated on a new EP, ‘Body Wigs’. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘NK Prog’ below.

United by a shared passion for ’90s rave culture and killer sound design, the duo – who have been scaling clubland’s ranks in their solo careers – join forces for the first time on this chuggy new four-tracker. Due to drop today (15th November) on French label 39 Records, ‘Body Wigs’ swoops from pupil-dilating prog into strobing contemporary trance and techno, delivered with a distinctive psychedelic touch.

Lean rhythms and warming trance pads are order of the day on opener ‘Into The Void’, ahead of the trippy, tunnelling techno of ‘Lost Souls’ and trance-laced grooves of the hilariously named ‘Tuna Bap’. Our pick of the bunch, though, is the rave-ready closer ‘NK Prog’ which serves up its thundering tech beat with bright, melodic flourishes and acidic bass squelches.

London-via-Belfast DJ and producer Body Clinic made a splash earlier this summer with his debut 12-inch on DJ Cosworth’s HARDLINE sub-label, ‘BODYHI05’. Packed full of prog and tech-house-garage hybrids, the project earned attention from the likes of Job Jobse, Spray, Amaliah and Jamz Supernova, and has cemented the Irish up-and-comer as a serious one to watch.

London-based Wigs has been on a similar upwards ascent in the past year, swapping the high-tempo breaks of his previous alias Will Ortiz for lobe-tickling prog and trance on labels including Ajam’s Dream Software, Neptune Discs and now Parisian favourite 39 Records.

Both artists feature on the new compilation from London label GODDEZZ, ‘RE:DREAM II’, which spans deep proggy house, ’90s trance and hypnotic breaks. Check out DJ Mag’s premiere of Duo Paradiso’s ‘Moonlight’ from the comp here.

‘Body Wigs’ is out today (15th November) via 39 Records. Pre-order the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘NK Prog’ below.
