Premiere: Ana Helder ‘A Continuacion’

Ana Helder will release a new EP, ‘Parket’, later this month via Chinotto Records. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘A Continuacion’ below.

With touchstones in classic house, funk, dub, post-punk and beyond, the five-tracker is a luminous celebration of the Argentinian DJ and producer’s all-tabs-open approach to electronic music, which has seen her release music on Optimo Music, Discos Pato Carlos and Cómeme over a fifteen year period. ‘Parket’ – Helder’s sixth EP to date – is set to land on 15th November, and features five club jewels crafted from nimble synth work, buzzing synthesisers and punchy house beats.

“This EP brings together recordings from different moments. I chose the tracks together with Whitney Weiss, with whom I shared the DJ booth at Dengue Dancing during her time in Buenos Aires,” Helder shared.

“‘A Continuación’ has some synths by Lucas Romeo, who also participated in the EP ‘Boleto 101’, which was released by Optimo Music,” she added. “We were in the studio recording and editing ‘Aire’, another track from ‘Parket’, while also adjusting the tonearm weight on the turntable with a Vangelis record that someone had left there. I tried out some scratches for fun, we added a lot of delay and I loved it.”

‘Parket’ is out 15th November via Whitney Weiss’ label Chinotto Records. Pre-order the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘A Continuacion’ below.
