Pendulum drop “heavy as possible” new track, ‘Napalm’: Listen

Pendulum have shared a new single, titled ‘Napalm’. You can listen to it below.

Combining elements of hard rock and punk with the Australian group’s signature drum & bass sound, the track features vocals from hip-hop duo Joey Valence & Brae. It follows on from the release of the band’s 2021 and 2023 comeback EPs, respectively titled ‘Elemental’ and ‘Anima’.

Speaking about the track in an interview with NME, Pendulum’s Rob Swire said: “The label pretty much came to us saying, ‘Make some more drum & bass’. As you know, I’ve got a weird relationship with that. We decided to go in and make it as heavy as possible, rather than make something that would fit into d&b sets. We wanted to make it our own way.”

He added that the link-up with Joey Valence & Brae came about after discovering their song ‘Punk Tactics’. “I was half-asleep when I heard it and just suddenly woke up thinking, ‘What the fuck is this? Some vintage Beastie Boys thing I’ve never heard before?’ It fucking blew my mind.”

Listen to ‘Napalm’ below.

Swire recently teamed up with Armin van Buuren at Tomorrowland to perform a drum & bass version of their collaboration ‘Sound Of You’.
