Peach Discs announces new EP from buen clima, 'Transferencia Electrónica'

Chilean producer buen clima will handle the next release on Shanti Celeste and Gramrcy’s Peach Discs label.

The five-track ‘Transferencia Electrónica’ EP marks the artist’s full debut on the label following an appearance on last year’s ‘Peach Pals Vol. 2’ compilation with the track ‘Techno querian lxs weonxs’.

Speaking about his Peach Discs debut, buen clima, real name Felipe Castro, said in a statement: “Stylistically the tracks on this EP owe a lot to the great Black musicians from Chicago and Detroit, namely Herbie Hancock, Mr. De’, DJ Rashad, Lil’ Louis, Frankie Knuckles, James Stinson and Gerald Donald.

“I feel like the EP is kind of a love letter to the styles they pioneered, done in my own way, which in turn has been influenced by my background in classical music and improvised music but also so, so heavily by my friends and teachers: I’ve learned so much just from interacting, working and just plain witnessing eggglub, Lorelei, Maxi Cat, il sentimento, Hola Papá/Annunaki, Lavina Yelb, Jean Pierre Karich, Jorge Pepi, and the whole music scene I belong to in Santiago.”

Shanti Celeste added: “This one is very close to my heart as I’ve always wanted to work towards showcasing more talent from my motherland of Chile. I first heard one of his tunes, ‘tqm ql’, in a guest mix on my NTS show by another Chilean DJ called Valentina, and I contacted him immediately. The result is everything I could have hoped for – really diverse and full of energy, so I hope you like it.”

‘Transferencia Electrónica’ will be released digitally and on vinyl on 4th February. You can listen to lead track ‘Bau House’ below.

buen clima’s EP follows on from Peach’s debut release on Peach Discs, ‘Galaxy Girl’, which came out in November.

Shanti Celeste recently remixed Orbital’s track ‘Are We Here?’
