Outkast’s Big Boi has teamed up with Sleepy Brown of Organized Noise on a new collaborative album.
Released on 10th December, the 15-track ‘The Big Sleepover’ comes two years after the release of the pair’s debut single, ‘Intentions’, featuring CeeLo Green. Sleepy Brown has also appeared on several Outkast songs over the years, most notably 2001’s ‘So Fresh, So Clean’.
Recorded at Outkast’s Stankonia Studios in Atlanta, Georgia over the last couple of years, the album features appearances by the likes of Scotty ATL, and Run The Jewels’ Killer Mike, who guests on tracks including recent single ‘Lower Case (No Cap)’. Stream the album in full below.
“[The album title] just came from a combination of Big Boi and Sleepy Brown,” they told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe recently. “It’s a double meaning. Big sleepover, we here to wake people up. The big sleep is over. You know what I’m saying? It’s not just about a slumber party. It’s about awareness and the evolution of the funk.”
The release of the album comes a month on from Big Boi revealing that he and Kate Bush have recorded a song together.
