Orbital announce classic ‘Brown’ and ‘Green’ albums headline show at O2 Academy, Brixton

Orbital are taking their ‘Brown’ and ‘Green’ albums headline show to the O2 Academy in Brixton next spring.

Brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll have announced a one-off London gig of their ongoing debut albums tour set for Saturday, 5th April 2025 at the recently reopened Brixton Academy. So far the tour has passed through the UK, Ireland and North America, with slots at Coachella and Glastonbury, and is paired with a deluxe vinyl reissue of 1991’s ‘The Green Album’.

“We love playing Brixton Academy, for me it’s our home gig!” Paul Hartnoll said in a press statement. “I think it’s the venue we’ve played the most down the years — it’s the perfect setting because although it’s large it still feels intimate because of its shape. The stage crew and backstage staff are fabulous, and you have to love its shabby chic aesthetic”.

Orbital have been sharing new and updated music since planning this anniversary tour: their classic ‘Belfast’ got a new version with David Holmes, DJ Helen and Mike Garry titled ‘Tonight In Belfast‘; a limited-edition remastered vinyl release of the 1989 ‘Chime / Deeper‘ EP; and a remix of Energy 52’s classic ‘Café del Mar’.

Brixton Academy was allowed to reopen this past April, after being closed for 16 months following a fatal crowd crush in December 2022.
